The Lord said to Abraham “Leave your country, your people and your Father’s household and go to the land I will show you.  I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great , and you will be a blessing!”

Genesis 12:1-2

Beginnings were always exciting to me.  They are starting points to a brand new life.  Remember your first date?  First time you fell in love? First time you drove a car?  Your wedding day?  The birth of your children?    All of that started with a step of faith.

Faith is so important that it is mentioned over 300 times in the Bible.

Faith is a starting point of our journey.

Let’s talk about Change….

God is the ultimate change agent.  He creates changes every day in our lives.   Change grows when we are willing to improve in our lives.

Let’s get real….who is ready to forget and realize the past can’t be changed.   Sometimes the Good ‘ol Days aren’t as nostalgic as we like to remember.  I think we get stuck in a rut and try to live in the past so we don’t have to deal with the present.  There is nothing worse than this.

Then there is the dissatisfaction of the present….we will never change as long as we are satisfied with the way things are.  Godly leaders are always in a spiritual quest on how they can improve and make things better.  unless we can start asking the tough questions now, we may wait too long to take action.

Here is my favorite….A hope for the future.  the happiest people are always optimistic about the future.  They embrace it with a smile on their face and make the most of it.  They realize that change is a large part of their personal improvement.

The rest is a matter of choice….we must choose which options to take in pursuit of the opportunities that is before us.

Significant moves are never easy.  If any of you have moved before you know what I am talking about.  You leave home, family and all that is familiar to launch out for new directions, new places, new challenges and new beginnings.  There are times when uncertainty sets in.  Apprehension overwhelmed you and you ask yourself “Is this what I really want to do?  Am I willing to leave everything I have ever known  behind?”

Sometimes I feel in the desert.   I wonder where God is.  Then I remember these important lessons.  The silent years.  The Bible talks about the silent years.  It doesn’t mean God isn’t there, that is when the truest test of faith comes in place.

He is there my friend.  He never left.  He is asking you to step out in faith.

It is literally that easy.

How does faith begin?  By believing.  No more doubts.  No more fears. No more excuses.  It’s time to take that leap of faith….It’s time to believe “If God is for me, who can be against me”.

Sometimes taking that leap of faith may lead you in a new direction.  Embrace it.  Let go of the past and look forward to your future.

New Beginnings…I can’t wait to start.  The journey ahead of me is far greater than what I am leaving behind.

Faith doesn’t change my circumstances, it changes me.
